SALVATION CHECKLIST

Salvation?
What is salvation?
Where does it occur?
When does it happen?
Who does it pertain to?
How does it manifest itself?
What evidence can I know it by?
What are the symptoms of such a salvation?

If you were to ask me if I am saved, I would honestly have to tell you that I don't know. That is of course a 100% correct. Because the Bible does not reveal to us who the elects of God are, the correct answer to this question should always stand unanswered. (Having said that, however, this question can be a help to us in determining whether we are saved, by the kind of life we lead.; Is our salvation based on anything we said or did like being baptised in water or by accepting Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, or is by some tradition that reflect some teaching that does would not pass the scrutiny of the Word of God or is our life a living sermon of the life of Christ. Specifically, that is the purpose of the Bible. 2Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Therefore we must trust God because only God can answer that question 100% exactly. What we feel or say does not lower or elevate our needful state to that of salvation. It is only God that chose us from before the beginning of the world.) There is nothing we can say or do to guarantee us salvation. (If we feel we have, then we must examine these following verses from the Bible and see if it speaks to us.) There is only one who truly knows; If we want iron-clad proof; it is God and God alone that knows. Rather, it is a concept of true humility: That of under promise and over delivery rather than over promise and yet we have not been delivered.
We however can have an idea as we compare our lives and how we conform with what God declares in His Word, the Bible. If we find that we have the desire to re-align our lives according to His Word to do His will then maybe we are. The new life we live consists also of the joy we find in knowing more about Him by a live that consist of studying the Word and applying it to our lives day in day out. There would also be a strong desire to tell other and becoming a witness of the Lord as commanded. These then are some evidences that perhaps we maybe well on our way, if not already.
Additionally, we also find an increased understanding of His Word; the Bible the more we read it as this is the way He instructs us, and more importantly a new desire to tell others about our new faith as witnesses of the Word maybe further proof. These are personal proofs that we may be on our way. Other manifestation in our lives will occur as we interacts with others in a way that is God glorifying and becoming obedient to His Word; and more and more a stranger to the person we used to be; our old self. Personally, this to me is more important, than saying we are saved because we "believe in Jesus Christ" or that we are "covered by the blood of Christ", etc and yet there is no evidential change in our lives: The absence of this change could be a fulfillment of the common phenomenon of "faith without works" Our work will indicate that the way we live our lives is to the glory of God.
Most importantly, salvation is always a matter of the heart. God knows the heart 100% because only He sees the heart of man; whether it be our own, or anyone else. God knows our selves better than us because He saved us when He did. Naturally, our human nature tells us that we are correct or smarter or better than others; it is a built-in defense mechanism of being prideful, a by-product of being carnal. This, we should be cautious about.
Therefore, if we are honest with ourselves, we should not trust our minds. Oftentimes, we suffer from over self-justification: our own minds are partial to favoring number one as we are subject to being overly biased in our own self evaluation.
Hence the creation of this checklist: If we are honest with ourselves this list will assist us in assessing our own lives (not others or we may fall in the pitfall of judging others that the Bible warns us against) and see for ourselves how we stack up in understanding salvation whether it squares with the teachings of the Bible; and perhaps we can see if our conclusions regarding our own salvation has any merit according to the Word of God.

If our salvation does not contain the truth of these verses, We have to be honest with ourselves: Do we have God's Salvation. Fortunately, until we die or until our Lord's return, we can seek him with all our hearts. Isaiah 55:6-7; ¶ Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

May this be true to those who have come to the knowledge of truth from His Word.

May God bless us all as we seek His face !
